Jim Reeves - Blue Side Of Lonesome

James Travis "Jim" Reeves (August 20, 1923 -- July 31, 1964) was an American country and popular music singer-songwriter, very popular until today, record charting from the 1950s to the 1980s, who, since the end of the 1950s, is well-known for being a practitioner of the new established, so-called Nashville sound (a mixture of older country-style music with elements of popular music). Known as Gentleman Jim, his songs continued to score the charts for years after his untimely death. Jim died at age 40 in a private airplane crash. He is a member of both the Country Music and Texas Country Music Halls of Fame.

My dad was a huge fan of gentlemen Jim. Today is my dad's death anniversary and I am remembering him listening to this song. RIP Jim and my dad!

In July 1964 I was just waking up in a hotel in Taiwan. I turned the radio and the first thing I heard was of Jim Reeves dying in a plane crash. I thought no not another great performer dying in a plane crash. I had met Jim Reeves a few times at his performances in Indiana. What a loss to his family and the world. Thanks for the video.

Gold memories of a great singer. His voice and songs cannot compare to today's garbage music. Never get tired of listening to him 🙏

There isn't a singer today that even comes close to Jim Reeves. The man's voice is incredibly smooth and mellow. Surely does make today's country music pure garbage.

Jim Reeves sadly died in a light plane that crashed in bad weather 31st July 1964 I remember that day so well I was 21years old. He was then and still today the greatest country singer this world has been blessed with, It is with humble thanks I was raised on Country music that he was at the centre of . I'm now 81 although I have aged his voice is still so warm, smooth, gentle, com, comforting, mellow and most of all sincere. Thank you Mr Reeves for the joy you are still giving to so many people.Welcome to my world
