Is a RV Flex Armor Roof a good choice for Winnebago?

Here is a Winnebago roof on a 2007 Suncruiser. The entire roof has been rino-lined or RV Roof Flex Armor coated. Like I said before and in this video, this is a viable product that is durable and works. However, at a starting price of $6500(though I have had customers quoted close to $10k) it seems to me just replacing the roof correctly is a better option....especially when there is such obvious de-lamination occuring. It's difficult to know the right path. It is a good product and has a lifetime warranty. It does lock in the roof attachments and has to go back to them for updates or add-ons. But it has little upkeep. Some buyers would be happy this was on a used motorhome while many others would want a factory roof. What do you think? Thanks!

Edited to reflex pricing quoted to me from the comments.

Alright, I'll toss in my 2 cents.
1. Most Fiberglass Roofs are only laminated very lightly, and around the components, and lose the adhesion over time regardless. (EVERY WINNEBAGO ABSOLUTELY DOES)
2. The edges are tucked into the extrusion/insert/drip rail.
(And 99% of the time are to long, causing a pillowing under the glass.
We strip off the Fiberglass, that's delaminated, the sides we strip the Fiberglass, replace with new Rolled/Radiused Aluminum/Stainless Steel, and marry all this together, bonding it as ONE.
3. You named Flex Armor, but as an Az Flex Armor Dealer, And installer, I challenge you to find this coming out of my shop. (It just doesn't happen)
I cannot speak for others, but we all go through rigorous training in Florida way before we earn our franchise.
4. More Expensive. Highly debatable.
(Actually we are cheaper than a dealer installed Fiberglass/Tpo/Epdm junk)
5. Why would you install the same "New Roof" all over again that was designed to fail, or if it's not properly maintained you lose your manufacturers warranty?
6. I watch most of your videos, and besides your expertise in the "Do Over Roofing Application", what is the true life span of an Rv Roof? We repair water damaged 90's, 2000's, and current (new, and past few years) almost weekly.

7. Flex Armor is a way more superior product than "The Other Guys"
Just do some research ya'll!

Rv armor so far in reviews is not worth the money. Flex armor would be the way to go. They don't patch the problem. They replace all roof attachments with new ones and they repair any rotten wood boards. Just like a new roof on a house. By the way, a new roof from a dealer using the original tpo or epdm is over $8, 000 with maybe a 10 year warranty that many times they don't honor.

Actually I had mine priced out for a new roof it was going to be 8k and only warranted for one year. Plus we are full timers and the shop was going to have it for no telling how long. Rv armor was 85 hundred and they came to us. They gave us a life time transferable warranty.

Flex Aurmer Roof is around $2500 less then a new rubber roof. 4yrs ago I had dealer replace my roof on a 2019 Jayco Pinnicle 36SSWS DUE TO STORM DAMAGE. It cost around $10, 500 I just had a Flex Armore Roof put on because of 18 wheeler blowout and some of the debree landed on the roof and tour the rubber ant it cost around $7, 500.

Some serious shilling in these comments, as your real viewer, thanks for putting it out there. Like a damn flex armor cult in this comment section..

Worked at a place that did spray on bed liners and once in a while we would get someone with an RV want us to spray the roof. Customers always freaked out when we gave them a quote even after we explained the issues involved, the amount of material needed to spray the roof, prepping the roof, having to wrap the whole RV in plastic wrap to prevent overspray and the headache of just having to get a lift so we could get up high enough so we could spray the roof. Never had any RV'er spend the $$ to get the roof sprayed.

So are you saying that a fiberglass roof (like Odyssey Entegra) is not as good as TPO if I need repairs later on? I am just shopping for now but looking toward future issues. Thanks!

The question I've always had is: If Winnebago's have this Fiberglass Filon "floating' roof, doesn't that make the application of RV Armor roof, Rv FlexArmor, Vortex coatings, Rhino Eco Coat, Flex seal et al. Useless? Winnebago's roofs are "Tucked in" on the sides, so if the fiberglass roof is "floating" then so will anything else you coat it do they take the floating roof off and apply all these coatings to the wood decking directly?

Like someone else I’m binge watching. Love the content. Quick question. Have you used or come across roofs done with Crazyseal? I’m in Canada and RV Armour is only available in the USA. Love to hear your feedback……or anyone else’s for that matter.

Im interested in what your opinions are on Flexarmor in terms of if its a solid "Do not recommend ever" or if its something where you should probably do it yourself since this job you are showing looks like they did a poor job prepping the vehicle for the Flexarmor application

Im sure if it was worth doing you would do it since people pay a premium for this service, or maybe you just don't see it as worth it for your business?

i do like the look & finish, as well as the idea that it "appears" to be a more permanent solution if you have all your accessories how you like

If you were Recoating the roof yourself which product would u use? I’m thinking of using the Hengs rubber roof coating.

I’m reasonably certain that is not rv flex armor but rather a con job. Did they have receipts?

Thanks for putting these videos out...in the area that has the separation, could you inject some type of glue under the roofing?

Hi James, I just found this video and have actually looked at this product. What are your thoughts on using it on a pebbled fiberglass roof on a class c Forest River motorhome? I only mention the brand as I am sure you have seen the roofs of these many times before. Nothing wrong with the current roof and I do keep up with the inspection of it a couple of times a year and seal as needed. It is even stored under a roof. While I would love to move into a slightly better floorpan unit, I plan to keep this one for a good while. Probably 10 years easily.

Just curious if a product like this would safeguard against leaks as they say it does and what negatives you can think of. My only major one, other than expense, is the skylight as even under cover they tend to break down it seems. I am planning on adding a bunch of solar and would then do this afterward. Thanks
