When I’m at the beach and on my period I don’t get in the water that much so what I do is wear underwear and a pad under my bathing suit and pads don’t absorb water, if you don’t want it to show you can wear shorts. I just hate tampons and menstrual cups.

Also, you can absolutely swim in the ocean when on your period, you will not get attacked by a shark lol. I was born & raised in Hawaii, spent my entire life swimming, surfing & kiteboarding...also traveled doing the same & never even worried about it. They're just as likely to be attracted to your pee of you pee in the ocean 😂

went swimming on my period a week ago, tip: if ur gonna get out to jump in get out fast and quick. i didnt leak and i have a HEAVY flow i jumped in like 9 times :)

I wore dark bottoms one time and it worked so well :)

Being submerged like a pool or bath will “cork” your flow but getting out will “uncork” to an intensity more than regular flow, so be careful.

Even if they absorb the water, you can wear pads in water you just have to wear the ones with good adhesive and change them often. I’ve had experience and it was completely normal.

A little story… so I got my period a while back and it wasn’t bad what-so-ever (ya know like first periods are) but then here I am in Florida on vacation and BOOM.
Luckily I was on the 🚽 when it started so nothing leaked into my pants. So I shoved tp into my underwear and told my mom. Now everything is sorted out and she just fast delivered some period proof swim bottoms to our hotel. 😁
