Trying to get an Uber these days is getting harder. Where are the drivers? They all complain they don’t get paid enough, when an Uber is half the price of a taxi I can understand.

Uber drivers are not independent contractor because uber controls their pay. Real contractors could decide the cost and know what their jobs consists of. Yes they are flexible and could log in and out as they please, but that's all the driver has. Uber controls everything else.

Being an IC is tremendously more financially advantageous than being an employee. People need to do their due diligence on the pros and cons of the two.

I'd prefer to be an employee. The healthcare offered is expensive trash. They cover 50 percent of the costs in my area. Forget $20 co-pays and embrace $200 bills after a checkup for only $460 a month that is paid back to you in a health saving account every three months

Uber where I live more than 20 minutes at day time the drivers are gone. 3 weeks ago was fine. We don't have drivers. What is going on? After 11 pm we need to walk. No uber, no bus, no taxi... Come on

Uber and others classify drivers as contractors so they don't have to contribute to social security or pay sick hours 🙃. Also even if you're an employee you can still offer flexible scheduling and work for competitors. Stop telling this false dichotomy crap.

Uber drivers should be employees. A ton of gig workers claimed unemployment benefits during the pandemic that nobody paid unemployment insurance for. These gig companies are tapeworms leaching off of the system. If they paid into the unemployment system, then unemployment insurance costs for all employers wouldn't have to increase so significantly over the next several years.
