You views on the MMR system are right, though in reality, Smite 2 hasn't got a big enough playerbase. Therefore, no matter how good of a matchmaking system they get, with no players, you are still going to be paired up with trolls and ragequitters.

Smite 2 is in such a bad place. Most players hate the new item system, they don't like the intellect strength system, they don't like the map system. It's just not going in a direction that will result in players wanting to invest.

I honestly don't think they want for us to play SMITE 2 for 24/7. I think they need the servers to be live for testing, for 24/7. As in... there are things that might break with the game being live all the time. So I'm not expecting a lot for the 24/7 CLOSED Alpha. Maybe the F2P one, but not the closed one.

Also, there probably won't be a big enough player base for MMR to work until 24/7 FTP opening.

More female ported Gods, Aggro literally just pushes all the male OTP's to get released.

I think that the 2 titanic Gods, Cthulu and Jormungandr would be great at showcasing what they can really do. Cthulus passive is a perfect way to showcase their great graphics too. Jorm should leave LINES of his puddle when crashing down from his Ult.

Honestly, I dislike the str/int system in general. It feels too limiting in what you can/can't build into, and some characters are really crippled in their options for it. Bacchus' leap for example scales off of strength whereas everything else scales with int, that just screws a big fraction of your damage just because of this design choice. It adds a level of inconsistency and difficulty (not the fun kind) to the game since now you have to remember which characters use which stats well for which abilities and it's not gonna be nice for new players. I suggest they revert it back to smite 1's beta days where there's just 1 kind of power.

Also, classes should make a return. I get that they wanna move to a classless system but realistically it's still there because each god still has a tendency to be played in some roles. They were designed for them, after all. Removing classes just makes it more confusing and is again not very new player friendly. At least give them that label back.

Lastly, in smite 2 they assigned specific gold costs to stat amounts, and this makes it so that theoretically each item is balanced because no item is more stat efficient than another. Of course, there are exceptions to this, like they made it so that intelligence + cooldown rate have a synergy together reducing their costs, but generally speaking each item is worth the same. While this is very nice for balance in theory, it kind of makes the game feel sterilized/boring in my opinion. There's less of a thought process with each build. I can't make a tradeoff to get a strong early game item that falls off lategame, or vice versa get a weak early game item that becomes more valuable lategame. It's perfectly fine for some items to be better at certain points in the game than others, I think that adds a fun layer of depth to building

Bring back portal demon for the portals so they aren’t usable until a team caps it to make it feel like the gold fury now.

Very surprised that they haven't showcased more new gods or even hinted at what they'll be. That would be easy way to excite players to keep supporting. I honestly would like to see classes return or at least some sort of ideal role tag for the gods. I do get that they want to get away from tight categories like classes but they needs something more than just a list of traits that you have to break down and figure out where it would work best on your own. Just something more to help guide people, it doesn't have to be the design philosophy or even hard rules just something a little more than just a list of traits because that will get old quickly.

Everything you say is true. But Smite was the game I grew up with. I was a kid when I discovered Smite and now i'm graduating school and still playing it. Smite 2 sounds good but saying goodbye for Original Smite... 😞

I personally believe yeah they should put in role ques and fix some items but I like smite 2 a lot and if it’s 24/7 I’d want another game mode besides arena like joust or assault honestly maybe a completely new mode unique to the game
