Join us for this discussion on the Zika Virus outbreak that the World Health Organization (WHO) has deemed an international public health emergency.

The goal of this webinar is to highlight what is known of the disease, provide an overview from the global perspective and impact of the virus and to put this information into the context of what is relevant for Canadian paediatric health centres. Experts in the epidemiology of the virus will discuss the origin of the virus, its transmission, the demographic implications, and the global impact.

We will then hear from Canadian health services and policy experts who will put that information into the 'Canadian context'; What do we need to prepare for, what are the real concerns, what precautions when repatriating/transporting patients need to be taken, how do we pro actively inform healthcare policy or inform the stakeholders of what policies may be in place from a public health perspective that the community should be aware of.

We hope you will us in this conversation and take this opportunity to add your thoughts, ask your questions and find out what your colleagues are doing across the country.
