Today marks the four year anniversary of the UK formally leaving the European Union.

It was on 31st January 2020 when Boris Johnson declared he’d finally got Brexit done, hailing it as “an astonishing moment of hope”.

Four years later, some issues remain as divisive as ever, including the control of our borders, our economic interests, the Northern Ireland protocol and free movement in Europe.

TalkTV’s Nick Wallis and Rosie Wright are joined by True and Fair Party leader Gina Miller and founder of Conservative Home Tim Montgomerie.

I am british born and raised, living in Austria. I love my homeland, miss it terribly and would love to move back some day. Apart from the fact that living in Austria has been become more complicated since Brexit, despite my love for the UK, I am starting to be glad that I am in Austria. Our health system is so much better. I can pop by my GP anytime without an appointment for example. Don't tell me the rest of Europe is suffering more 🙄

The cognitive dissonance of Brexiteers has to be seen to be believed.

Respect to Gina a solid stance from day one
The only difference so far is the uk has gone from being assholes
is that they have become greater assholes
but it’s early days yet in the words of the Brexit minister Smogg
There is only 46 yeas to go the only benefit for me is
That I have picked up a new skill At 84 I have leaned how to pull my own teeth

True diehard Brexiteers will never admit that Brexit was a mistake no matter how bad the economy is. Their only response will be give Brexit a chance to work. Or this isn’t the Brexit I voted for.

Economic benefits of Brexit? The strength of a country's economy is reflected in the value of its courrency. Sterling has fallen a long way since the EU Referendum.

Most countries are joining trading blocks. Trading blocks negotiate much more favourable terms than individual countries. The UK is the one country that is going in the opposite direction. The whole world knows that the UK is desperate to get some trade deals done. What happens in any negotiation situation if you know the party you are negotiation with is in a weak position? Thats right. You bargain tougher. The UK will inevitably end up getting the worst trade deals possible. The UK is bargaining from a position of weakness and everyone knows it. Its sad, but its a fact.

Being British now feels like we’re stood on the last remaining plank of wood of a sinking ship with sharks circling while some sing Rule Britannia and everyone else looks on in astonishment

I live in Australia where voting is mandatory. At first I thought that was crazy but at least you can say the voting age population on the day had a legitimate say on the direction of travel which relates to Government power and any major constitutional changes. Brexit voters were 37% of the total voting population on the day and I deeply wish we’d of made it compulsory.

Brits should own up to what was the driving force behind Brexit! And when they finally do they should also accept the consequences!

Do the British feel that their situations has improved in four years? Have they received what this government promised them regarding Brexit? If the answer is yes well then it has been succesful for them.

I can’t understand why we would want to diverge from EU standards when it’s our nearest and richest trading partner. It doesn’t make sense! In effect Brexit has enabled the UK to impoverish itself. It doesn’t make sense.

I am in Madeira, and trying to purchase anything from UK is a no, no. Postage so massive it cost as much as the item purchased just to send it and takes nearly a month to receive it. So no more tea or coffee from Fortnums.

We never left the EU. Being controlled by EU laws is not Brexit! And by the way, @Gina Miller, Farms all over the EU are being shut down! How is that a joy of being an EU member?
