On Saturday 12 September, Swiss rider Manuel Scheidegger set a new world record in rear wheel riding. The previous record of 25.86 km was clearly surpassed with 30.95 km. The wheelie world record is about covering as many kilometres as possible on the rear wheel in one hour. The front wheel must never touch the ground, otherwise the attempt would be aborted. The world record was set on a 400-metre athletics track in Gümligen (near Bern). This is a offical guinness world record.

I don't know how many km I have done, but I have 1 hour 55 minutes of video recording without stopping.

As much as it is a skillful achievement, I fear (as experienced already) that some folk in the public take this as an example that it is OK riding up and down the road only on the back wheel, regardless of safety for anyone else around. In this event the rider was very much "protected" from normal traffic. On the other hand I can't see much of a difference to a uni-cycle, other than a bit more front weight.

If I'm not mistaken, the world record is 50.2 km😁
