Traveling With Kids - Khao Lak, Thailand | Kalima Resort & Villa, Khao Lak Muay Thai, Little Italy

In this video, we travel to Khao Lak, just an hour away from Phuket, for a weekend getaway.

Khao Lak is an excellent place for a weekend getaway if you're in Phuket as it's only an hour away. Phuket can get crowded and pricey, but Khao Lak is a quiet coastal area with many great resorts, especially for families. You'll find that many of the resorts in Khao Lak have facilities dedicated to kids like kids' clubs, kids' playgrounds, and kids' swimming pools with slides and wet playgrounds. Khao Lak is also only an hour away, making it an easy drive. You'll also find that the prices in general are a lot lower once you get out of Phuket, including hotels! Our family takes the trip up to Khao Lak every few months.

I spent the weekend with my son and daughter (my youngest was in Korea with mommy). We loved staying at the Kalima Resort & Villa Khao Lak. The hotel room interior design is lovely with a lot of wood accents making it feel very home-y. We had room service dinner and the breakfast buffet, and the food was great. More importantly, they have a great kids club with an adult supervisor, and their pools have a kids' area with slides and a playground.

We visited a new muay thai gym called Khao Lak Muay Thai Gym. We trained with Kru Padu and it was an amazing experience. Kru Padu was great with the kids. They really loved training and playing with Kru Padu. For me, Kru Padu was one of the best trainers I've had and I only have the opportunity to train with him 1 time. He really helped me correct my form and improve my kicks. We are looking forward to training at Khao Lak Muay Thai Gym again!

We had some of the best Italian food ever at Little Italy Italian Restaurant Khao Lak. They make their pasta in-house and you can really taste the difference. I highly recommend the Cannelloni!

If you have time during your stay in Phuket, definitely visit Khao Lak for a relaxing weekend getaway!
