Switzerland is a tiny nation with many pleasant surprises and charming towns. Since many years ago, Switzerland has drawn many visitors from all over the world. The majority of tourists are fascinated by the Mountains, as well as by the communities' excellent preservation. Switzerland is a small country, but the villages and towns can vary greatly from region to region. The country's ten most picturesque villages will be described in depth in this film. There may be a few things you are already familiar with, but there will also be a lot of surprises. The place to go in Switzerland to feel mediaeval atmosphere is Gruyères.
Don't forget to taste fondue, Gruyère cheese, and double cream while exploring the castle, museums, and the culinary scene in Gruyères! The most well-known village on this list is Zermatt. See the Matterhorn, take in one of the many views of the Swiss Alps, or just stroll around Zermatt itself. Explore the numerous lovely traditional wooden cottages that are dotted across this Swiss village! Visit Corippo, formerly Switzerland's tiniest municipality. Corippo is situated in Ticino's Valle Verzasca.
It's a beautiful village with many stone homes, and it's particularly unique because there are only 12 people who live there. Obviously there aren't many people there. Another mediaeval village that appears to come from a fairytale is Saint-Ursanne. Built along the Doubs River, Saint-Ursanne is charming due to its numerous mediaeval homes and magnificent monastery. In the lower Engadin, in the region of Switzerland where "Rumantsch" is spoken, is Guarda, the town of Schellenursli. It is relatively quiet and far from any major cities. Summertime or Chalandamarz are the ideal times to visit! The quintessential Swiss village is Grimentz. It lies high in the Swiss Alps and is charming due to the abundance of old-fashioned wooden homes.
All of the houses are garlanded with red roses; tacky and seductive! Another popular tourist destination is Lauterbrunnen. Despite being small, the town is situated in the Valley of 72 Waterfalls. Appreciate the waterfalls and greenery that make up the panorama! Remember to visit Wengen and the Jungfraujoch! Epesses is situated beside Lake Geneva in Switzerland's wine country! There are plenty of views of the wine terraces, Lake Geneva, and the Swiss Mountains from this lovely community in the centre of the vineyards. A particularly mediaeval and cultural village is Stein am Rhein. The ancient town is immaculately kept and charming due to the abundance of painted homes.
The "No e Wili" performance, which is performed every 10 to 25 years, is spectacular. Have a meal at the Castle Hohenklingen or a swim in the Rhine. The most lovely Swiss hamlet on this Top 10 ranking is MORCOTE! It is near Lake Lugano and has a charming aspect because it appears to have been constructed on a hill. The wonder garden at Parco Scherrer, the church Maria del Sasso, and all of the hilltop vantage points are breathtaking. By the way, Morcote isn't thought to be especially touristy. Therefore ideal to place first among Switzerland's Top 10 Villages! VIDEO MUST BE VIEWED IN 4K!
