I always wanted an RX8 but they were like 60 grand when new. Fast forward 13 years later where I’m at a car dealership helping my younger brother buy a car. I got bored and stumbled upon a shed full of trade-ins and low and behold at the rear of the shed there was an RX8 in the exact spec I liked covered by an inch of dust. Cut a long story short I took a calculated risk and bought the car for 5 grand. I got lucky and was able to get the car running and road registered with minimal issues and it cleaned up very nicely. It was a great experience. I sold the vehicle after a year, but still reminisce, especially with how brilliantly the car handled. I imagine the FD turbo upgrade would be absolutely epic on an RX8.

5 years ago I bought one of these for $4500 and it had 55, 000km's. Even though I'm strutting a 2jz build ATM I still miss the rx8 dearly. what a car...

I have to say that I've watched fullboost videos for so many years and Simon seems like such a wonderful guy and like Frank from Dandy and Stix from fuel works he just oozes honesty and integrity, and a sense of calm, and you just know he's going to give you exactly if not more than what you've asked for.. So many shonks in performance shops these days I wish there were more like him.. Great stuff FB and Simon .. 👍

Great video on the progress of building a car, can see that promaz and Simon have some awesome packages there for Rx8.
Love it how chill he is with all the knowledge and r+d he has done in the past.
Had my 12at since 2001 so I know the journey and the fun along the way.
More content like this please full boost Regardless of the engine.

Mate this Promaz fella is brilliant. So much experience, seems like fantastic customer service. I wonder what the waiting list is like. This car/engine combo would be perfect i reckon. Sounds the tits too. Really great vid gents - awesome stuff.

Awesome video. Love watching builds like these.

I'm currently trying to carry out a more obscure build. Based on the Furai R20B renesis, I'm currently trying to build a 20B based off the renesis engine. Yes the cosmo would be better but I'm interested in trying something different. In the past I've gotten around 340hp/290whp from a turbo charged renesis. So I think the R20B could comfortably get around 500HP.

I've been doing research into GSLSE rotor housings that may be able to help me increase overlap by getting rid of the MSP, in which I could use a full peripheral port configuration with. Not sure if this would enable me to use higher boost but I'd have to experiment.

If I'm not mistaken a few reasons the renesis struggles with boost is that there's too much heat due to the MSP, the seals are weaker (as they weren't designed with turbo charging in mind), and the rotors have been lightened. I once ran an rx8 at around 20psi of boost. It managed it, but there were early signs of compression loss right away. If I were to use either carbon apex seals or rx7 seals and machine the rotors to fit them, along with GSLSE housings, hypothetically it could handle higher boost 🤔

Just wish I could send my RX8 to the other side of the world to have Promaz fully spec the car up. Other option is just move from the UK!!

How to make a great looking $3500 car run good with $25-30k in parts lmao!

A turbo RX-8, neat! So you'll be getting 6 mpg instead of the usual 11 mpg lmao. I say this as an RX-8 owner that loves my car! XD
