We may disagree on what should or should not make this list, but we can agree to never stare directly into the eyes of Clemson's Tiger.

The channel passed 500, 000 subs last night! Thank all y’all for watching the videos and making all this possible. Wish I could give you all a hot Krispy Kreme donut but that’s impossible because I don’t share Krispy Kreme.

Speaking of Dolly, if you have a kid, you absolutely need to sign them up for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. She started it to send free books to kids to encourage reading. Both of our kids used it, and they loved it when a new book showed up.

That lady is a saint.

I have a friend whose daughter was battling a childhood illness at Vanderbilt. His wife and daughter were in a waiting room to get a procedure done when who walks in but Miss Dolly. Dolly sat down and just had a talk with his daughter about what was going on in her treatment and all kind of other things. After a while, Dolly said “Well, honey, I have to go, but I’ll keep you in my prayers.” Five minutes later his wife was thinking “Did that really just happen?”

Many many years ago when my Memaw and Pawpaw were moving, there was a stack of cinder blocks that had obviously been there for a while. My Pawpaw made sure we knew those needed to be loaded, my then wife asked my Pawpaw what he needed them for at his new house, his reply was "so I can stack em up there just like they are here." My grandparents have long since passed and that house was sold but I'd be willing to be those cinder blocks are still there.

Dolly Parton isn’t just great. She’s also humble. She politely turned down induction into the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame because she hadn’t made a rock ‘n’ roll album. She then went and made a rock ‘n’ roll album so they could induct her.

It never ceases to amaze me that in the mountains of upper east Tennessee you will have a trailer house with a stack of 3 cinder blocks at one end, but the other end has a stack of 30 just to level the thing.

My favorite Dolly move is that Dollywood might seem like an ego thing at first glance, but it's actually there to provide jobs in an area that doesn't have a lot. And it provides 100% tuition coverage. That woman's the real deal.
(She played a concert where I live when I was a kid, and my step-dad won a local radio contest for a backstage meet-and-greet with her. He was the grumpiest SOB you've ever met, but in that picture he got with her, you could tell that he was as nervous as a teenager.)

In a recent popularity poll.
Dolly Parton received a 78 % positive view from respondents.

People had a more favorable opinion of her than the Dali Llama.

I'm pretty sure Dolly Parton being a wonderful human being is one of the few things this entire country can agree on.

“Every southerner has three or four cinder blocks right now at their house. We don’t know where they came from.” Yes! I have absolutely no idea where they came from! I predict a future when our civilization has died off, and archaeologists will not find our homes, our mega churches, or even our stadiums, but they will find these cinder blocks and wonder what on earth they were used for.

It don’t matter what part of the South you’re from (Kentucky here, don’t come for me, we’re still part of the South), we all know, respect, and love Saint Dolly. You can’t convince me she’s not an actual angel walking among us. In fact, when I was a little girl, I was convinced she was my guardian angel - my mom had told me about guardian angels, and how they’re everywhere and they watch over you, and Dolly was on the radio, TV, magazines, everywhere I looked. So, she had to be my guardian angel.

Still pretty dang sure she’s an angel on Earth.

I grew up in Massachusetts, and later moved to Texas. One of the first places I went was Louie Mueller Barbecue in Taylor. I knew from the moment I walked in that it was going to be good - the seating arrangements were minimalist, and on the right hand wall sat hundreds of business cards, many of them discolored beyond recognition through the decades of smoke. This was a place that had been doing it for a long time, and must have focused purely on the food. We got the brisket, naturally. I took my first bite, and tasted it. Savored it. I sat there for a minute, maybe longer. I then turned to my brother and said "I understand why southerners are more religious."
