Do people realise the overwhelming sense of normality that has taken over and that we all feel not seeing Boris there and the appointment of Liz truss immediately has restored the normal way of doing things.
I don't know how good she will be as prime minister, but at least things will feel normal and not the mumbo jumbo tense mad world of Boris we were all in. It's great to feel normal again and not the constant tension and headache we all felt under Boris

I could tell from the warmth in her smile it was more genuine. There is something of an endearment in the eyes of a right wing smile. A gratitude. A softness. I don't see that from the left. I see a hollow "to the future" "Oh me oh my" in their eyes. She looks like she's smiling at a baby in that picture 😊

FFS, the UK government is a Parliamentary System NOT a presidential one. It really is easy to understand. The public do no vote for a Prime Minister, they vote for an individual Member of Parliament in their voting district (constituency) and it is the individual who can gain the support of most MPs in the House of Commons who becomes the PM. That is done through a party system, although in theory every MP could act independently. The Conservative Party (like all major UK parties) MPs establish who this is with the overall party membership.

One of the first things is to declare working from home allowed like it was at the peak of covid19. It is not much but lots of similar small steps will take us over this winter. Next winter is already hugely easier. Next after that Russia's effect on European economy is very close to North Korea. EU also must be very soft on Britain because who's got the resources like endless winds and some nice drops of oil?

I’m fascinated by British Parliament, very entertaining! Saw Ms. Truss differently at the debate when she showed authentic concern for the Moderator lady who fainted! The new PM stepped off of the stage to tend to the lady’s welfare while Mr. Sunak stayed put. All I needed to know. Even though I ain’t English, she had my vote.
