Timothy Spall has come such a long way since his appearance in Auf Wiedersehen pet, his character shows such depth and realism to the age of the movie is set inn, his facial expressions and character acting is chilling and can't wait to see the movie.

I love both Turner and Constable's art, compared them both and enjoyed them both, Constable's Salisbury Cathedral from the Meadows, and Turner's The Fighting Temeraire are amongst the most outstanding art i've ever seen. 
This film's definetely worth a look.

Note in these trailers how a gentleman in the anteroom of Art Exhibition cordially greets Turner, with ‘Esquire’ at the end of Turner’s name. That was a polite title appended to a man's name when no other title was bestowed. Because unlike many painters of his generation, Turner was never knighted, never publicly loved or recognised. He was not a ‘Sir Joseph’, for he was considered crazy (quite literally) by Her Majesty Queen Victoria, and by her grandfather king George, and ridiculed openly by many critics. Not to mention that some of his paintings that stirred the British sense of self-righteousness were not properly displayed before 1980s!

Judging by this clip ONLY, Turner is made out to be a stumbling simpleton and red-faced buffoon - which he was not. Simon Schama's Power of Art version is more true to my study of Turner. Turner's seascapes like The Fighting Temeraire are great, but he turned in occasional clunkers - stilted, academic and meant to please his patrons, who rejected them anyway.
