Let's put that ethical issues away first. Editing embryonic genes using the CRISPR/CAS9 method have been around for a long time, and it is technically not that difficult. However it still has great flaws and many uncertainties. You can't make sure to modify this a specific gene while not affect the other genes. Which means the twin babies would likely have serious problems genetically, which may cause cancer or other disease. It's ridiculous that people think the babies are "gifted", I really think they've been cursed. They are born for the experimental purpose, like the lab rats. Their whole life are going to be monitored by the world. Should they be birth controlled in case of passing false DNA to the next generation? There are too many unknown problems coming. I feel sorry for the kids and their ignorant parent. This so called "scientist" should be executed for claiming his own fame in this way.
