The man walked on a path on a very cold and dull day. The ground was covered with bright white snow and ice as far as he could see. It was his first winter in Alaska. He wore thick clothes and boots made of fur, but he still felt cold.

He was going towards a camp near Henderson Creek where his friends had already arrived. He thought he would reach Henderson Creek by six o'clock in the evening. It would be dark by that time, and his friends would have a fire and warm food prepared for him.
