Socialists can't name where socialism has worked!

Im from the Netherlands. We are what we call a "care state". Its a capatalistic society that spends a lot on social helpcare (run by private, capatalistic organisations). We are in no way socialists and definitly not as happy as they portrait us to be.

They like to cite the Nordic model for socialism working. That's just free healthcare and 50% FLAT TAX for everyone. If you ask them if they're willing to pay a 50% flat tax at all income levels, they say; "Noooo, not me! I shouldn't have to pay 50% taxes!"

And anyone that thinks socialism has worked anywhere obviously doesn't even know what socialism even is. maybe they're getting it confused with social media or something..maybe they ate paint chips as a kid. who knows

To be fair, alot of these people don't know what socialism is, they only hear the words "FREE" and "equality" and not anything else like "free with shortages", "free but rationed", "free but long wait lines", "equality because everyone is poor"..

I love how people keep trying to use roads, police, firefighters, etc, etc yet they don't know that they can vote for or against the bills that pay for them. Voting isn't how socialism works.

the UK's health care is great when you need emergency life saving medical treatment... but waiting lists for less immediate things (cancer treatment for example) are astronomical, The difference between the US and UK systems is two fold. 1. you trade off immediate medical treatment (cost) vs Waiting long wait times and higher death rates (Free). And 2. Someone has to pay the pharmaceutical companies to come up with the medical break throughs we all enjoy... socialist Health cares do not do that. No where has socialism innovated, contributed, and or paid, for the current state of Medical treatment the world can offer. It is off the back of capitalism that these breakthroughs happen, it is off the back of capitalism (namely the US health care system) that countries like the UK can have our NHS.

The nordic countries the lefties say they love plus the UK and the Netherlands are all mixed economies combining capitalism with social democratic politics to varying degrees. The USA is also a mixed economy, though more capitalist than some. Although socialism as such is internationslist/globalist, Stalin famously built 'socialism in one country' and his brand of authoritarian socialism ie communism is popular amongst Left wing politicians and activists in the West who hide their remorseless drive in that direction behind a touchy feely 'don't be mean' facade.
