So I Finally Played Metroid: Samus Returns...(3DS Review)

I finally played Metroid: Samus Returns.

This Metroid game though is the basis for the other games. If the baby metroid isn't saved, Samus would have died at the end of Super, and the events of Fusion and Dread wouldn't have happened. I beat this game a few months ago, and I agree. It's a good game. I beat the original, this game, and Dread, but I know what all happens more less. Metroid is one of Nintendo's hidden gems.

Play this game a little over a year ago while I was nursing a back injury it was definitely a great game it took me way too long to beat it but man I had fun glad you enjoyed it to

Definitely feel like Dread refined the counter a heap. I also played Dread first (finished SR end of last year) and it felt like a step back. The one good thing about redoing the Metroid bosses is that it feels satisfying picking them off with the higher power-ups.
7:08 That bloomin’ robot boss was so annoying! I did not realise that I could stick to the ground with spider ball to avoid being sucked up so found that section of the boss to be frustrating! But I do appreciate them adding more elements to the remake .. the Final boss was sick 🤟🏼 & loved that the baby helped out in the battle 😁

Glad it seemed like you enjoyed it! This is how I experienced Metroid 2’s story when I played them all chronologically last summer and thought it was pretty good.

Also please don’t overpay for that Metroid amiibo, it isn’t worth what people are asking 😭

For the Diggernaut fight, you can actually avoid getting sucked in by spider balling to the ground, making that section much easier.

Samus didn't kill the baby Metroid because the baby thought Samus was it's mother but it was a really cute moment 😎

YES! This is another one of the many 3DS I recently ordered and got! It was in a Bundle with Federation Force :). Metroid Dread is another one I haven't started yet but soon enough ^^

As with any Metroid game (ignoring Other M), it’s a great, well-crafted game. However it’s probably my least favorite of the 2D series. I don’t dislike it, but I’d just gravitate towards any other of the 4 2D titles any day of the week. The repetition of the Metroid fights makes the game feel like it drags to me, which isn’t helped by the fact that by the time you’re facing the final few Metroids almost all buttons on the 3DS are being used. And it’s not the most intuitive control scheme either. That’s probably the biggest improvement in Dread over SR. The controls and movement just flow so well. Besides those 2 quite major gripes I have with it though, it’s the most crucial point in the Metroid timeline and a solid entry in a phenomenal series.

It's not an official game but I recommend am2r as well probably one of the best fan games you'll ever play

It's basically a fan remake of metroid 2 in the style of zero mission

I finished Dread this summer and it made me start play Samus Return again, as i have not finished it yet. And i have to say that i prefer SR over Dread any day.
SR gives you a sense of proper exploring and also the standard enemies are actually a challange.
But i am nut super into Metroid. i only finished Dread and Metroid Prime, i prefer Castlavania games over Metroid out of Metroidvania genre.
