Leading in Crisis e-panel discussion “Setting next steps when your feet are weary'

Our clergy and lay leaders are facing serious risks for burnout and exhaustion right now. As we confront the twin pandemics of coronavirus and systemic racism, it may be difficult to discern the right path forward for your ministry.

Part II of GBHEM’s “Leading in Crisis” series will focus on “Setting next steps when your feet are weary.” We will discuss this with Bishop LaTrelle Easterling of the Baltimore-Washington Conference, author Susan Beaumont and Rev. DJ del Rosario.

Easterling serves on numerous United Methodist boards, including the National Plan for Hispanic and Latino Ministries and the Council of Bishops Immigration Task Force. She holds a law degree from Indiana School of Law and a Master of Divinity from Boston University School of Theology. She is also the founder of the Seeds of Security ministry which benefits people in crisis who are seeking to leave abusive relationships.

Beaumont is a renowned consultant, author and leadership coach. She earned her MBA from Northwestern University and her MDiv from McCormick Theological Seminary. Beaumont is well known for her ground-breaking work in the leadership dynamics of large congregations and most recently, for her insightful book, “How to Lead When You Don’t Know Where You’re Going: Leading in a Liminal Season.”

Del Rosario is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church and is lead pastor for Federal Way United Methodist Church in Federal Way, Washington. He serves on multiple boards both within and without the UMC and is the author of the seven-session Lenten Bible study, “Wind in the Wilderness.” Rev. del Rosario earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington and his M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary.
