The Librarian of Congress and Ken Burns announced the 2022 Library of Congress Lavine/Ken Burns Prize for Film winners at an awards ceremony on October 18, 2022. The hour-long ceremony featured Tracy Hamlin singing “America the Beautiful;” congressional remarks by Congressman Jamie Raskin and Senator Roy Blunt; excerpts from the six finalist films; a message from The Better Angels Society with remarks by Amy Berg and Jeannie Lavine; and a discussion with the award-winning filmmakers Ross Hockrow, director, “Philly on Fire” and Jeff L. Lieberman, director, “Bella!” in conversation with Dr. Hayden, Ken Burns and moderated by Jonathan Lavine.
