TUNING OUR 180SX BASH CAR | SR20 POWER RUNS

After being neglected for over a year, finally, our orange/black 180sx has been given some love and an exciting new purpose. Dave has decided that seat-time is sometimes more important than expensive parts when it comes to competitive driving ability and having two similar drift cars at his disposal could improve his skills this season. The ‘competition’ 180sx (episodes coming soon) will be a much more purposeful build, while this new ‘Bash Car’ is all about reliability and style.
In this episode, we head to Trackday Performance (TDP.ie) to tune a newly-forged SR20 engine on a full Link ECU engine management package. When we first bought the car, it suffered numerous engine failures on the dyno before it was even driven, so let’s hope this mapping session goes a lot better. With all the necessary maintenance carried out beforehand, it was the moment of truth.
With some time to spare as the engine was being 'run in', we also took some time to check out the crazy builds at MotorsportFifty6, where we were in for a surprise … as was Ryan Morton – that one’s pretty funny!
