That "razor blade trimmer tool" is called a thumb plane

It feels great to take jobs on your own. In the future, use your full piece for the row before you go under your door. Then, use the 2 pieces so there a split in-between the jambs. That way each piece can slide under the jamb and casing and still have the locking edges connect on the flooring planks. Then slide then back together. You have voided you warranty on the floor by doing that technique

When laminate first came out, we glued them all together. This will work. We had tongues to glue into the groves and we could rotate the pieces 180 degrees,

no... just no... ruining the locking mechanism and using glue instead is FAR WORSE than adjusting the door jamb

No no no no! It's called a floating floor for a reason. It expands and contracts. Much easier to cut the trim and jamb and makes the floor correct and won't void manufacturers warranty

A lot of people, maybe rightfully, are pointing out some errors e.g. removing he locking feature of the flooring. But, tbh, a pro could come in and do similar stuff, we all know what cowboys are like. So actually, maybe doing dodgy work yourself is better than someone else at cost.

No good don’t cut off the locking mechanism. It’ll go under and lock with a little work

It’s perfectly acceptable to shave the locking system BUT when you do, you need to use CA glue not construction adhesive. That won’t dry properly and it’s going to sound like rice crispies when you walk on that joint and crack the glue. Use the right glue!!!

1.dont shave the mechanism it will void your warranty
2.get a under cut tool/jamb saw or a handsaw works too (I’ve used one on the fly many times and I’m a pro)
3.that black bar is a whammy bar use it on the long ways of the plank with a small spare cut piece and it’ll come together easy or use a pry bar just standing to hold the angle.

Use liquid nails for transitions unless you wanna tear that mf off with a slipper at 3 am on your way in the bathroom. Engineers do not always know best lol. Also I’m sure every time you step on it it makes a tapping sound.

You still have a gap between your jamb and the flooring so don’t dance yet, go get a tube of caulk.
