I got a cauliflower ear and i immediately went to the doctor tge next and got it drained twice. It is totally avoidable

I work in the operating room and this is 100% fixable, outpatient. Takes an hour maybe less

I find it kinda hard to believe that even the calcification can't be surgically removed. It might not look very clean, but the outer ear is a relatively low risk body part to perform surgery on.

You get cauliflower ear playing rugby too you can wear scrum caps when your young to prevent it but your encouraged not to to not look weak to the opponent

Mine are Not like khabibs by means but I’ve got it to a decent extent on both ears from bjj. I’ve noticed no difference in day to day hearing. For the ppl saying you should just drain it, I did, as well as compress after. There’s no fluid to drain anymore but the cartilage is still permanently rearranged

I'm glad the wresting league I competed in for 12 years required headgear... even though everyone complained about it, and some independent tournament opponents would make fun of us... wrestling and judo for 15+ years and no cauliflower ear.

There used to be an old "trick" boxers used to do... that was before people actually WANTED to have cauliflower ears so everybody knows "they are a warrior brah" (seen guys try to give themselves cauliflour ears on purpose, i wish i was joking)
Anyway...the trick is simple: you put a button one each side of the ear and stich them together, through the ear, to keep the skin pressed agaist the cartilage so it cant fill up with blood/plasma.
