Yeti Cycles completely took over the market with the release of their SB5.5 and although the model has been discontinued, it paved the road for the new SB130 and SB150 29ers now in the Yeti lineup. But how did this thing line up against the notorious Wreckoning from Evil bikes you may or may not be asking? Well when racing meets freeride, you see a drastic difference in geometry and build specs but every rider requires something different. So press play and find out whether or not you need a full on race machine like Yeti's SB5.5 or a full on playful pny like Evil's The Wreckoning.

I just bought a wreckoning and it's hands down the best bike I have ever ridden.

Interesting contrast of the brands' philosophies. On a semi-related note, when I first saw the Dolphin color of the Calling, I thought it would be fun to paint the front end of it white with a black separation line, and get custom Evil stickers that logojack the old school Yeti Ultimate's font and appearance.

Great video. Could you do a short travel 29er trail bike video. I live in NY and that’s what I’m in the market for. Thanks!

So what you're saying is, if you want both main aspects of both a Rallon? lol

At this price range, any bike is a good bike (if labeled MTB/DH) personally my dream bike is the canyon sender.

What about The Following v/s the SB 4.5? Good point about the race breed and ride style plus personnel opinion on the feel. I’m going to grab and demo from WWC when I’m closer to purchasing. My goal is a short travel 29er that’s going to be built up with a Fox34 and i35 rims.

Had friends snapping multiple Yeti frames, assuming bad batch or build process, but maybe the bike was just not suited to their riding?

Great review and comparison of build philosophy. Do you have an opinion of how the Santa Cruz Hightower LT would stack up against the Evil and Yeti?

what do you think about sticking 27.5+ on the wreckoning over the 29ers? Or should i just go with the insurgent? Not looking to go 29er atm

The Evil is sick but I ride with a guy that has one and its 1lb heavier than my aluminum Turner 29er.

I am in the market for my first long travel and I have a few in mind that I like the evil, trek and rallon are the 3 that I am looking at. I"m really leaning toward the rallon. but I do have a question I started out with a cheap bike from academy first to see if this was something I would want to continue that bike lasted me all of a week it was a huffy then I bought a shwinn not much better but it was full suspsension which was nice but my crank set and pedals went within 3 weeks bought much better crankset and put a sealed bottom bracket in and theen blew my front forks and swapped the huffy forks and bar over and has been pretty decent. now my problem is when I pedal the frame twist back and fourth a lot down lower by the crank set almost like the rear shock is weak or something. I do ride hard do a lot of jumping and rough handling sort of speak will I have these problem with all full suspension or is this dues to a cheap bike. what bike would you recomend based off my choices my trails are a mix from rocky incline flat and some down hill with jumps which is where i'm trying to go the most but afraid my bike can't take much more abuse.

Does a 4.5 or following feel more playful than these two? I’m in MN, so our trails do not have big jumps.

I'm 5'7" and thinking about getting a evil wreckoning what size should I get? I'm leaning towards small but no local shop has one I can demo.
