Solarc - Kissed By Fire

Solarc is the alias of South American DJ and producer Carlos Miguel Antelo, born in 2015 following the success of his previous incarnation as Southmen. The talented producer brings his innovative production skills to this two-parter, landing on Rebellion this June.

Described by Damian Lazarus as being “​pure fire​”, ​Solarc ​says that this EP ​“is the first of my new projects that is focused in a modern deep-tech way. Both tunes have the perfect blend of deep and groovy classic sounds combined with contemporary songwriting”

Dark Wings is most certainly that - a dark, grooving and rhythmic track, busy and bursting with an obliteration of spacey synths that will make you feel like you’re about to take off into orbit. On the flip side, ​Kissed By Fire takes the tempo down low. It’s the perfect balance of light and shade as it gently builds towards an elegant and ethereal breakdown.

Solarc ​began his foray into music back in 2005 under his Southmen ​moniker when he signed to Deepdish’s Yoshitoshi Recordings. Under that alias, he released on Azuli Records amongst others and released his first album ​A Fine Balance ​on Sony Latin America. His talent as a DJ saw him grace festivals across the globe, as well as holding down residencies at Pacha in Sao Paulo and We Love Sundays in Brazil. Under his new Solarc alias he’s released on some of the scenes biggest labels including Toolroom and VIVa Music.
