Altair Astro hypercam 183c pro review

A review on the hypercam 183c pro. This is my first review video in a long time, i'll get better with practice i promise.

I am slowly in the process of demonetizing all my videos, I was never in it for the money or the glory. I just like to help people. This way you can rest assured i'm not making a video only to trigger an algorithm or as click bait. I have been a bit disillusioned with it all lately, and hopefully this will help.

Yeah, just what I needed was another high tech hobby craving.... I'd love to do a semi-permanent all sky camera, and this cam looks really nice, but yeah. If I had a dime for every time I got wild ideas about another thing to try, I'd have some fair funding right there. Nice review and really nice pictures. Thanks for putting the time into this! :-)

I'm happy that the Altair Astro Hypercam 183c pro works out so well for you! I would love to have bought one, but finding a dealer in the US that sells one isn't nearly as easy as finding one selling ZWO cams.

Did I understand correctly, that it's simply air-cooled with a heat-sink and fan? No TEC (peltier)? How low can you get the temperatures during warm nights? Have you thought about benchmarking the ability of the Hypercam 183c pro to cool at room temperature?

Thanks for sharing. I currently use a dslr with my star adventurer but I'm thinking of getting this with the canon ef adapter to use my lenses but also get a telescope down the line in the 300-450 mm range..this is probably a stupid question.. so you power if via your laptop /desk top and i beleive you need your computer to control the camera.. if shooting at home would you run a long USB cable and keep your computer indoors if possible or do you have to protect your lap top and use it outside?

What do you think? 183C or 183C TEC for a beginner? Is the passive cooling of the 183C enough for a warm summer night? The big difference is the price tag i suppose

Hi. Thanks for the review.
I purchased a Meade LX90 8" SC telescope extremely cheaply as it was faulty. I have repaired it and been using it for a while now.
I would like to fit a semi pro camera to try to pictures like yours. I have seen a second hand Hypercan 183C pro for sale. Would you recommend this type of camera for this scope?
I am a total beginner and teaching myself as i go! Thank you.
