The incident with Mick is inexcusable. Makes him look like an entitled punk.

Checo ceased to be the underdog when he moved to Red Bull and yet I like him more than ever. He's stayed humble and has been a great team player. I think it helps that he has 8 years on Russell, he's got his life together and has a lot of experience in midfield teams.

It’s not his driving it’s the way he acts I mean I fully agree with all of your points, esp the Singapore incident when he ran into Mick and then moaned on the radio about how mick should move out of the way, I mean George was also fighting for a job when he was at willliams and I think he’s forgotten where he came from and not give the same respect to another driver in his situation that he was a few years ago

George’s favorite 5 words. “He just turned into me.”

The moment when he hated on Mick for not just letting him by was the kill switch… Imagine hating on your competitors for being competitors. If you can‘t overtake then it is because you are too bad not he is „too competetive“.

Imola with the incident with Bottas showed me his true character

For me it's his entitlement. I've yet to see him take responsibility for an incident, be it through humbleness, or through guilt. But.. He's young, he's motivated, and he's passionate. Hopefully he learns from it and understands the negative.

After today’s USGP, I think it’s pretty obvious why he’s disliked. He divebombed the first turn & took Carlos completely out of the race, and then proceeded to complain on the radio about Carlos cutting him off (when Carlos was COMPLETELY entitled to that line).

It's the ENTITLEMENT that bothers me. Like i can tell you two incidents this year (Perez in France & Mick in Singapore) where he was like yeah no the other guy should've just move aside and let me go through. That's not how it works, every other driver is there to race no matter the position they are in, they're not there to just let you go through just because you're in a top team. The Perez incident really stuck out for me in this case.

For me it’s the lack of responsibility for causing things on the track. Every time he gets on the radio he’s complaining about how someone else is driving even when it’s very clear he also had a part in it. He ran right into Carlos last weekend and then blamed Carlos on the radio. So insane.

For me it’s the incident with mick where he never owned his mistake, and his moment with france with I think checo(idk) where he just threw it up the inside from a long way back and said “he needs to give up the position”, it just makes him sound entitled and that he’s perfect in his mind.

The fact that he crashed out Bottas, then walks over to him and slaps him?? Like what? If hamilton or max did that damn.

He didn’t change, now he’s in a top team and more spotlights are on him, people just see what haven’t been seen in the past when he was at Williams, he’s always like this

It turned for me when he lunged Checo in France from about 200 metres back, then took no blame and whinged about not getting the place back

Nearly any time I hear his radio messages my respect for him drops. Absolutely no willingness to accept he can make mistakes. When even the team leader has to tell him to STFU and drive.

I started to note that early this year, when Lando, asked if he played online with George as before, he became serious and said something like "No. I am sorry, but he has changed, he is not like back then anymore"
That was an eye opener to this new George. Sure Lando would benefit of being more mature, but there was something more.
When a driver is focusing on winning, they no longer are too social and turn inwards. See Max and Lewis for example. Others turn nasty - see Ocon and to a degree Gasly.
Russell became Hamilton's understudy and was ignored while bringing the points. I felt for him then, but at the same time, he drew a clear line from his Williams years, where he drove to achieve miracles and was plauded for it. Now he has a car he can bully people with. He is no longer in the vally pushing the wooden cart. He is in the palace driving a carriage... And he displays the attitude to match.
Yet this can be a great hurdle if he keeps it up, brings points and podiums (and complaints) but no races...

I've been a massive fan of George since he won F3. I've watched him win F2 the following year and fight tooth and nail in a Williams. I fully supported him no matter what happened (I even supported him in the Imola incident with Bottas because I was so desperate for him to get points - Looking back, I was silly to think it was 100% Bottas' fault because it clearly wasn't, I was just blinded by wanting GR to do well).

I feel like somewhere in the first half of the '22 season he started being slightly disliked by some people. He started becoming too desperate when racing, making silly errors and blaming others. I know a race which I still remember was France this year (Divebomb on Checo, made contact, then got on the radio and kept going on and on about how Checo apparently turned in on him - Which he didn't. He complained so much that Toto had to get on the radio and tell him to stop complaining).

For me, that was a bit of a turning point. Don't get me wrong, I still really like GR, but I feel like he has lost who he is since joining Mercedes. Maybe that's because he wants to beat Lewis so badly, maybe he wants to show Toto he can fight as the main driver, maybe it's the pressure of constantly having to finish in the points. Who knows?

I just think people are now seeing him as being a bit:
- Entitled
- Complain-y
- Annoying
- Someone who can't take blame or own up to mistakes
- A PR robot with no personality

Now these aren't really my views but I am starting to see them and understand why people dislike him. To be honest I just want the old GR back because a lot of people are really starting to go off him

The man who forgot what it is was like to drive a backmarker car as soon as he moved to Mercedes

The man is pure quality behind the wheel.

But obviously smashing into Checo and Schumacher and trying to push the blame on them is in really bad taste.

Of course you want to prevent to be penalized, but both times were clear as day his fault, not even debatable.

"This is enough George, keep your head down, you can still get good points"
- Toto Wolff.

I'm a Williams fan, he's the golden Boy of the past, I will excuse almost everything lol

But I can still see why people start to dislike him.

I still remember how Russell criticized Bottas in 2021 saying that its inadmissible for a Mercedes driver to qualify 9th, thats why i was so satisfied when ironically Russell qualified 9th in Bahrain while Bottas qualified sixth. Another of the things that made me realize Russell needs to learn how to be humble is when he said that 3 years in Williams was too much time and the he was ready way before that time, he is a very talented and good driver but his ego sometimes overshadows how good he is, kind of the first years of Verstappen when he disrespected Kimi Raikkonen.
Sincerely i just wish he learns when to keep his mouth shut and drive instead of bitch around everytime something doesnt goes his way, imagine how he would act if he was fighting for a title
