For those whom havent seen the movie to give this scene some context. He has been sorta seeing the girl who he is singing to but he hasnt played music so she could hear. She has wanted him to play and has said so many times. She signed him up for an open mic and I think he didnt know or may have. She basically gave him a put up or shut up opportunity. He then unleashes this version of one of my favorite songs. This song doesnt tug at my heart strings it tightly grasps them and rips them out to show me what exists underneath. And this version is hauntingly perfect.
