The people that say the mt-2 sucks are probably looking for a school book tone.... No tone sucks in the right context. Black metal and noise music proved that.

Internet troll: "Metalzone is the worst pedal ever!" ... *BOSS laugh in 1 million units

There's something instantly recognizable with the MT-2, I could identify it immediately. These compliment each other particularly well - in isolation the REVV sounded a bit too scooped, and the MT-2 a bit too harsh, but once blended they sounded really full. Very nice.

obviously for raw black metal the best is the worst and the worst is the besr

I love that awesome tone your created using BOTH pedals, it reminds me of late 1980s SODOM like 'Agent Orange'.

Before it gets to the reveal I’d say I like pedal one for like death metal but I like pedal two more on thrash or black metal.

Fun Fact: Dissection used a JCM900 with a Metal Zone as a boost when recording Storm of the Lights Bane.

Pedal 2 is just so raw it gave me salmonella

Both can sound great in a mix, depending on the style you are going for and the music you enjoy.
For me it was very obvious which was which, mainly due to the fact that the Boss sounds quite scooped whereas the Revv had some great mids.

It’s been 15 years since I played a Metal Zone pedal and I instantly knew it after a few chugs. It has that infamous tone that sounds like a wah pedal was partially left on. Still wish I had mine, but it served me many gigs until the hinge broke.

Use the Metal Zone in the FX loop as a preamp, and that thing will turn its haters around. It blew me away compared to being simply in the chain.

Like it or hate it the mt-2 is so distinguishable and sounds so unique and raw. The Revv on the other hand gave a pretty basic metal tone. Maybe it would sound better in another setup. I still prefer the boss though.

I played the metal zone for many years. It's a great sound for my music. I prefer the electro harmonix metal muff with top boost. In my opinion it sounds exactly like the metal zone only difference is the 2nd footswitch for the top boost or middle frequency. So you have 2 tones to choose from at all times without adjustment.

I’ve used a Boss Metal Zone for years and love it! It’s all a matter of taste, I have my Metal Zone dialed in to my liking and it sounds killer thru my Schecter Hellraiser Avenger with EMG 89’s

3:28 into the video and I'm gonna say Pedal 1 is the REVV and Pedal 2 is the Metal Zone.

I have a metal zone and the Rev G3 is on my wish list. Although I really like the MZ as a really versatile pedal for rock and metal, I do prefer the Rev based on this comparison, it has a fuller sound.
