I ran all the 4MIX units when I was at Greater Huntington Parks and Recreation 3 years ago, they ran decent if it wasn't for abuse and having to adjust or replace the carbs, adjust valves and replace cams, seals and clutches and coils constantly they'd be great. I use the Echo SRM-3020U, all 2 seasons since I got it not a dime on repairs other than routine service. Cut probably 120 acres of 4ft tall grass all season last year. 😀

Just bought my 131R . I’ve been back to my dealer three times! The unit runs fine for 20 minutes and then starts to bog down and doesn’t want to run. At this point, it will idle fine, but shuts down as soon as I press the throttle trigger.

Anybody else notice how few weeds were actually being taken down in this video? Both heads? It almost looks like the guy has a string head with about 1" of string on both the weed trimming and brush cutter cuts. The broad leaf plant in the second one just sort of waves in the breeze even though it's got to be less than 3" from the cutter. Come on, Stihl video crew! This reminds me of the John Deere commercials where they have the unreal looking 'farmers' driving in circles and little piles of dirt, saying stupid lines. I watched this because we're thinking of getting one of these to clear underbrush on our property. The sales and marketing team need to get out in the real world a bit more, I'd say.

I have the backpack version, i.e. The FR131T I love it BUT just recently I have had an issue whereby the drive is lost from the engine to the tool on the other end occasionally (The only way I can describe it is if the flexible shaft has suddenly become slightly too short, that's impossible I know but maybe you can see what I mean, ) Any idea what could cause this? Yes, I do make sure that the combi shaft has not slid out a bit!

The Fs 131 is professional grade brush cutter correct ? I have one and I enjoy my bike handlebar version ! Someday I wanna move up to the Fs 240 or just have both of them together .

I just bought this yesterday. (Bike handle version) I was disappointed to find that the harness is so flimsy and doesn't even have a belt for your waist. This supposed to be a heavy duty commercial piece of equipment. For the price you pay you shouldn't have to spend EVEN MORE money to get a decent harness.
