My favourite one is definitely the 2nd one because it is a combination of classic nostalgia and well designed printing. Great video Jang

The new helmets might feature more details, but to me, the proportions seem rather worse than in the previous versions.

I hold a ton of nostalgia for the second one but I would say the third is the best of the four

The inability to turn the head on the newer model is its biggest problem, IMO.

I think the 2014-2018 one looks best. I don't hate the new one but it just looks odd.

My mind on them changed completely once I actually got a couple of them for myself. At real extreme close-up, in videos and photos, the helmet looks too big, but having it in-hand, looking at it at a normal distance in person, I think they look fantastic. The ridge under the eye being sculpted and casting a realistic shadow is so much nicer than the faux-printed shadow of the more recent ones.


You could argue that it the redesign wasn't all that necessary (haven't heard anyone complaining about the older style, really) but I think it's a very sizeable improvement once you get over the fact that it's bigger.

That first one is rough. People say LEGO's quality has gone down, but I think it's more like it varies from set to set and product to product.

Like, even though they've gotten bad about the printing with pale faces on black heads, I feel like that printing flaw would never show up on a cmf.

Both the newest trooper and newest Vader look like they're permanently looking UP. It's weird.

3rd is the best, the 4th is like the new darth vader helmet where it looks too elongated

I doubt I'll ever get used to the newest helmet, the stretched look is why. I love the idea and the dual-moulding but I just find the elongation and the amount of drop down at the front extremely ugly.

Even when you're looking at a group of predominantly 4th gen troopers, they just look wrong. I think it's the chins; they come down too low on the chest.

The third Gen amongst the second Gens, looks like a named video game character standing amongst some NPCs. Like Sgt. Avery with a team of generic UNCS Marines.
