Tamil Nadu train accident: Passengers recall chaos

A speeding express train rammed into a stationary goods train at Kavaraipettai near Gummidipoondi in the Chennai Division of Southern Railway on the night of October 11 There were no casualties reported. The injured were being treated in hospitals. The crew are safe. Train No. 12578 Mysuru-Darbhanga Express was given a green signal to pass through the main line. However, the train speeding at 75 kmph entered the loop line and collided with the rear of a goods train stabled there.

This is happening almost every month, there's no end to these tragic accidents. The railway minister should take the onus to resign, make sure a full proof safety standards be implimented.

Before disconnecting the Loop line (in which the goods train has been parked) with the main Line, why the signal dept gave green signal to the express train? Is this type of technical advancement we have? Prevention is better than cure, isn't it?
