Great little vid, bring back great memories! Back in about 1988 i built a longboard out of 3/4 plywood and the trucks off my skateboard so I could do exactly this! Except my sail was a 5.5m with about a 7 foot boom. Got kicked out of every Safeway or Walmart parking lot near my house until finally finding a church lot that was usually empty after school. Best thing ever to learn to ride switch (yes some of us did that way back then), duck gyre, carving 360, and a ton of lower wind freestyle tricks. Good to see it alive still!!

So smooth Ben! I want to learn to duck the sail like that. I have been sorting it out stationary on land first, sail chi style. When I have it there then I'll go for it on foil and rolling on the sand. Honestly, I am trying to optimize my foiling kit to behave like a windskate. I love the glide, how little wind or room the skate boards need. Last winter when I could not find a wetsuit in stock I bought a sand sailing board and had so much fun, stayed warm and started out ripping on the water in the sprng.

I used to be an avid Wind skater, (we called it Land sailing) Quit doing it because I got back winded by the sail and blew my ACL. Ruined a whole windsurfing season. I now use a kite instead of a sail because it’s much safer.

Why don´t you switch stance like you do with windsurfing, makes no sense.
