2020 Pepper grow update #0 - Starting seeds in the AeroGarden seed starting deck

This is my first pepper grow update for the 2020 growing season. I'm starting pepper seeds using the AeroGarden seed starting system designed for the AeroGarden 9 pod Bounty and Ultra/Extra models.

I'm using the AeroGarden nutrients and sponges that came with the seed starting deck, but will eventually switch them to Masterblend.

To make things easier, I created a Google Drawing of a 10 x 5 table to keep track of which pepper seeds are planted in each growing sponge.

Here's a template if you want to print one yourself.

Thanks for the print templates. Very helpful to me as a new pepper grower using Aerogarden seed starter.

That's a great idea to put the Bounty on top of the Greenjoy. I may do that to save space! Great video.

A lot of peppers there I haven't heard before. I've been wanting to try the Aerogarden for starting my seeds but it's just too cold in my house so I don't think it will work. Would need to get a heater for it I think in order to have any success. Good luck with your seeds!

Hi Peter as always I enjoyed your informative video, looking foward to many more. I'm also doing away with the double cup and going with the nursery pots, good planting, Smokey Joe.

Interested in seeing the migration away from double cups. I like the method and am using it again this year, but it does get a little labor-intensive when you have dozens of plants.

Looks like you have nice verity this year Peter. I started half my seeds on New Year's Day, and I'll do the rest Feb 1, so I dont end up having to up pot 140 plants at once, lol. That's usually the part I don't enjoy.

Nice shirt! That's an awesome set of peppers you'll be growing. Hope they all sprout well, and give you a lot of peppers!

Look forward to your updates this year Peter! I went from grow sponges to 18 square pots per 1020 to approx 3/4 gallon pots. Will see how it goes this year. Thanks !

Love your videos. Where did you get your humidity dome for the seed tray for the Aerogarden Harvest?

Interesting choice starting your series from "0". Also, amazing that you narrowed your grow down to that list of varieties with hundreds of others that could be grown. Thanks for sharing your grow. as it is both a reference point and and vicarious pleasure for pepper growers. I will be looking forward to weeks 4-6 when plants are competing and needing a new home. Will be interesting to see how you handle it.
