Now that's what I'm used to when I hear a Detroit. It is a bit loud for a neighborhood. Thanks!

Was wondering where you were? That thing is insane. I can't believe that makes that much of a difference! Super. Noisy. But, super awesome. Also, can't wait for the dyno!!!

The Garrett T04 is an old skool H1E or HX series have much better compressor maps in terms of efficiency and wider sweet spot across turbine rpm. The switch blade form of VGT seems to have good feed back from people operating them, like Jpaydirt. As always, keep at it!

Nice Job! A 70mm housing might be your target. Possibly up change the hot side too.

I still swear the reason they outlawed them wasn't the fuel emissions but the sound emissions.. Those things are definitely loud no matter what you do. I definitely remember them coming up the hill and going down it when at my grandma's when I was a kid. You could hear them for so long before they got up to the house and so long after they went back down the hill. I think that's where 75-90% of my love of those engines comes from.. and the rest is just because they are amazing when it comes to an engineering aspect. They work unlike any other two stroke engine.
Is there a way you could put a little computer in it to be able to put in a computer controlled turbo that's variable veins? (vanes?) I'm thinking you could probably use a 2000-2003 Ford 7.3L turbo if you could.

Why would you get a Detroit if you don’t want it to be loud. Plus it’s pretty quiet inside the truck. That pickup has tons of sound proofing. It is Likely only 70-80 decibels inside the truck.

Wow, you've done away with the compound turbos! I was all fired up to put my 671 together with compound turbos because of seeing them on your 453. What made you decide to change?

You might consider an AeroExhaust XL muffler. I put one on my RV (5") and I am really happy with it, and it's straight-through so low backpressure. You can also add an electronic exhaust cutout so that you can get full sound when you want to annoy the neighbors. :)
