"Sucker Punch" is an epic action fantasy that takes us into the vivid imagination of a young girl whose dream world provides the ultimate escape from her darker reality. Unrestrained by the boundaries of time and place, she is free to go where her mind takes her, and her incredible adventures blur the lines between what's real and what is imaginary. She has been locked away against her will, but Babydoll (Emily Browning) has not lost her will to survive. Determined to fight for her freedom, she urges four other young girls--the outspoken Rocket (Jena Malone), the street-smart Blondie (Vanessa Hudgens), the fiercely loyal Amber (Jamie Chung) and the reluctant Sweet Pea (Abbie Cornish)--to band together and try to escape their terrible fate at the hands of their captors, Blue (Oscar Isaac), Madam Gorski (Carla Gugino) and the High Roller (Jon Hamm). Led by Babydoll, the girls engage in fantastical warfare against everything from samurais to serpents, with a virtual arsenal at their disposal. Together, they must decide what they are willing to sacrifice in order to stay alive. But with the help of a Wise Man (Scott Glenn), their unbelievable journey--if they succeed--will set them free.

I don't understand how this movie didn't do better in the box office, sure it wasn't perfect but the effects were really well done. Each of the 'dream sequences' could be a movie all their own <3

this film is amazing and disturbingly sad.
It wakened so many emotions. Really nailed the big questions regarding pain, subjugation, freedom, trauma/ mental problems in a much more pungent way than other more "traditional" psych ward films.

Glad I came across it, even if it was 10 years after its release. Definitely underrated.

I remember seeing this in theatres like it was yesterday. Can't tell you how many times I watched this movie as young teen. This movie helped me out of a really dark place.

I saw this movie when I was little. Didn't understand anything so I thought it was an average movie. Watched again today . And boy I was wrong . This is a masterpiece. I wonder why is this movie's rating so low . I loved this movie so much. Zack Snyder is a genius .❤️❤️❤️

I loved how this trailer made the movie look like a regular fun-tastic journey while in reality it was actually tragical and really deep with its message

Even though I didnt understand what the storyline was about when i first watched this over a decade ago, i still enjoyed it. I rewatched this a few days ago and its been stuck in my head because i understand what its about now and I'm gagged. Such an underrated movie, way ahead of it's time. One of my favourites now

Even to this day, I still consider this movie one of thr best ones ever made (at least on this genre of sci-fi movies), terribly underrated and I just loved. I wished they made. A sequel and this movie definitely deserved at least one Oscar. The music, the cinematography, the editing, the sound mixing, etc., every was just great. 10/10.

This is basically the movie that made me want more female lead character. Zack Snyder can't make a movie without a badass female character, also Zack proves anime style can be translated to films, and damn he does fucking wel.

Always will be one of my favourite movies. I don't care about a deep and critical analysis of its themes or its cohesiveness as a movie, it was just damn badass and entertaining. Plus the music was a bop for each fight scene.
