Baby chimpanzee reunited following C-section

The Sedgwick County Zoo's new baby chimpanzee was reunited with his mother on Thursday after being born on Tuesday, Nov. 15.

Have watched this many times. The little gasp when Mahali realises her baby is there and then picks him up and cuddles him and kisses him like she's never going to let go again, actually made me cry. It's such a loving moving and maternal moment, and I would LOVE to see how they are doing now!

I think her shaking was akin to a human crying. She was clearly scared and worried her baby didn't make it. When her baby lifted his little hand she was so overwhelmed with relief and love she started shaking. She made me cry.

I cannot stop watching her reaction! From being pregnant to going under anesthesia and waking up to no baby . Then her knowing this was her baby! How precious life is! Her reaction was like, it’s ok, mamas here!
