CarPro Spotless 2 0 - Does it remove water spots?

CarPro announced an upgrade to Spotless. I personally was never successful in removing water spots with the previous version so it sat on my shelf collecting dust. That goes for any water spot remover. Most work well on fresh spots but struggle on water spots that have been sitting for a longer time.

In this video I am putting CarPro Spotless 2.0 to the task of removing water spots and in this instance it just happened to work. So the results speak for themselves as the product worked as intended to. Be aware that a water spot remover is a weak acid and that it has the potential to remove or degrade a wax or sealant and in some instances kill the hydrophobics of a coating.

Mike you also have a ceramic coating as the base so most likely they where in top layer of the Gyeon wax layer. The real test is take a uncoated and unwaxed car that has no protection and see how it does on the water spots. Water spots are definitely hard to see on light cars except maybe in direct sunlight.

I just washed today actually and have little tiny what I think are soap spots all over the car from leaving the snow foam on too long (I got distracted). I hit it with a QD with no success. I have a strip wash made up at 1:10 and this got them off but I couldn’t do the whole car due to time. Hoping they come off with the next wash, otherwise a good chance to give this a go I guess!

Just curious. If the Hydrophobic action is "reduced"... wouldn't that straight up just mean the coating is compromised? Doesn't the coating shed water because it has filled all the imperfections in the surface and has hydrophobicity due to the slick, non-porous resulting surface?

How does it compare to the 1st version? Or even a white vinegar 1:1 w distilled water? Besides the foam tip, performance wise? Great reviews on all the new carpro products 👍

Looks pretty cool to me if it's 2.0. Normally they say to rinse well with a jet of water, but suddenly we can do like you, application with microfiber, drying with a second, and neutralizing with a quik detailer?. I'm thinking of buying it and it would suit me not to re-wet the car every time!. Do you have any advice for me? thank you in advance

Have you tried Koch Chemie FSE (Finish Spray Exterior) to remove water spots?

Would you Spotless 2 or the Opticoat MDR would work better on waterspots that are super tough? Or other reccs?

I will polish them off, but I’d like to “soften” them first before I do.

Thanks,

Nate

Do you know the pH of this product? I assume it’s more acidic than Descale.
