Is Margin Lending / Margin Loan from CommSec worth it?

In this video I am going to talk about the margin lending or margin loan by Commsec. Is it worth it and the risk involved with this product. Like any types of financial product it comes with a risk and margin lending is essentially a loan given to You based on how much cash and shares value You own. The total net worth will be calculated by Commsec and They will determine how much money you can borrow to buy shares. It gives investor a leverage to earn profit but on the other side if the share market value drop Your loss is leveraged too. There are plenty of cases where the investor lost it all: all the cash and the shares they own before using margin loan when the value of their portfolio is decreased substantially.

Are there taxes when you close the margin loan after purchasing securities that went up? Or does that only happen when you sell everything?
