Breaking news hits the Canary Islands, and Mr. TravelON is on the ground to uncover the truth behind the headlines! 🌍📰 Recent reports suggest tourists might need to show proof of having £97 per day in available funds for their holiday in the Canary Islands. Sounds alarming, right? But let's dive deeper and see what's really going on.

Street-Level Insights:
Armed with questions and a camera, I hit the bustling streets of the Canary Islands to talk directly to tourists who are currently enjoying their holidays. Interestingly, none of the travelers I interviewed were asked to show any proof of funds upon their arrival. This raises questions about the accuracy of the news circulating in the media.

Tour Operator Confusion:
To further clarify the situation, I reached out to several tour operators who organize trips to the Canary Islands. It turns out, they haven't received any official advisories regarding this supposed new requirement either. This discrepancy between news reports and the reality experienced by tourists and tour operators suggests there may be more to the story.

Official Sources and Reassurances:

Mr. TravelON's Take:
Join me as I navigate through these confusing reports and bring you the real story from the heart of the Canary Islands. This video aims to put your mind at ease and show that the Canary Islands remain a top destination for travelers seeking sun, sea, and relaxation without undue financial stipulations.

Don't let sensational headlines deter you from experiencing the beauty of the Canary Islands. Remember to like, comment, and share this video to spread the word and clear up confusion. All MSM needs shutting down, they are disgusting. Was over in Lanzarote in January, no hassle, no stupid questions. Heading to Majorca in a few weeks, so we will

I no longer pay attention to the daily toilet papers or mainstream media. I was in fuerteventura about a month ago, and it was the quickest and most efficient arrival into any international airport litterly 15 minutes from aircraft to transfer coach after I finally got off the plane. And they were not interested in what money I have

I live in Gibraltar, and the Spanish police are enforcing all the rules. They are asking for hotel reservations, to see you bank accounts on your phone and return tickets and I have been denied entry to Spain several times, attempting to cross through the land border, and Im a British citizen. Yet if im flying from mainland UK to Spain, I get no questions going through the airport. Thanks for the video.

A credit card is generally considered as proof of funds and the ability to buy an onward ticket. What you do want is travel insurance as medical bills can add up really fast if there is a stay in hospital.

Well said Dave, we came to lanzarote in March, no problems at all. Cant wait to come back later on this year. Keep up the good work 😉👍

Just been to the Canaries and not asked. I would assume credit cards would cover that amount up to a fortnight - carrying 1400 quid in your back pocket is asking for trouble.

It might be a good idea to tell people that if they go to Mallorca they have to pay a Tourist Tax at the hotel before your given the room key. The price per night goes off the stars the hotel has. Most travel agents in the UK omit telling travellers this which i find disgraceful on their part as it can and does eat into your spending money. May i say this is not the hotels charging you it's the Governing tourist board.

Great video again Dave. This mainstream media nonsense is crazy. We travel five times a year, twice to Lanzarote, and other Spanish islands. Never been asked any questions upon entry.
Well done on keeping everyone informed

Thanks David. Since I last wrote I've heard that the £97 per person takes into account accomodation and flights to Spain. It would seem the press are on form again. Peter

I think you are doing a brilliant job recently with these nonsense stories in the press, but it is worth pointing out that this is actually a rule, even though I've never heard anyone being asked. I think it mainly applies to people who haven't got a return flight booked, if you have a package holiday booked you are unlikely to be stopped, but, by the rules not impossible. Great video as usual, keep up the good work
