This is pretty much just what happened to Max and her friends. The reason she almost died is because of Jason fighting with Lucas so he couldn't play her favourite song in time. If Jason's group didn't ruin it, Max would have been perfectly fine.
Since they weren't mentioned I thought this would turn out better bc even if Vecna knows the plan, he can't really do much to prevent his victim escaping other than throw objects at them lol
