Lebanon PA, November 2, 2020: PA Dutch Pumpkin Pie - Home for the Holidays
• 1 ½ cups sugar
• 1 large can pumpkin
• 2 cups whole milk
• 4 large eggs
• 2 teaspoons cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon ginger
• ½ teaspoon cloves
• ½ teaspoon salt
• 2 Pillsbury or homemade pie crusts (room temperature)
• 2 tablespoons Margarine or Crisco
In a large bowl, place sugar, pumpkin, milk, eggs, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt. Mix with a wisk or hand mixer until smooth and blended.
Prepare two deep dish pie plates by greasing sides and bottom with margarine or Crisco.

Flute edges. With a fork, prick holes in the sides and bottoms of dough. Pour pumpkin filling evenly into the two pie crusts.

Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes. Then bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Cool and serve. For contrast and added flavor, serve topped with whipped cream.
