Polynomial Long Division
Показать описание
This video explains how to use polynomial long division to divide two polynomials. Long division of polynomials follows the same steps as long division of real numbers. If the polynomials involved were written in fraction form, the numerator is the dividend, and the denominator is the the divisor. To divide polynomials using long division, first divide the first term of the dividend by the first term of the divisor. This is the first term of the quotient and is placed on the top of the long division. We then multiply this term by the divisor, and subtract that value from the dividend and get a new dividend. These steps are repeated, using the difference as the new dividend. If the remainder is zero, the divisor divided evenly into the dividend and we say that it is a factor. If it is anything other than zero than it is not a factor.
