WINNETOU (2016) - Generationen Teaser **HD**

Fast 50 Jahre nach dem letzten “Winnetou“-Kino-Abenteuer bringen RTL Television und Rat Pack Filmproduktion in Zusammenarbeit mit Beta Film die Geschichten rund um Winnetou als Event-Dreiteiler ins Fernsehen und konnten für die Adaption des Kult-Klassikers das erfolgreiche Kreativ-Duo Stölzl/ Berger („Der Medicus“) gewinnen. Die Dreharbeiten unter der Regie von Philipp Stölzl („Der Medicus“, „Nordwand“, „Goethe!“) haben jetzt in Kroatien begonnen, die Ausstrahlung bei RTL ist für 2016 geplant.

Karl Mays Abenteuergeschichten gehören zu den zeitlosen Klassikern der deutschen Jugendliteratur. Mit etwa 200 Millionen weltweit verkaufter Romane / Bücher wurde der Sachse für Generationen von Jugendlichen zum Idol - und zu einem der erfolgreichsten deutschen Schriftsteller. Helden wie ‘Winnetou‘, ‘Kara Ben Nemsi‘ und ‘Old Shatterhand‘ prägten sich tief in die Herzen seiner Fans ein.
Mit den Stars von heute und dem Geist und ganz besonderen Charme der alten Filme geht für die TV-Verfilmung der Zauber dieser Abenteuerwelt weiter.

In WINNETOU & OLD SHATTERHAND, WINNETOU UND DER SCHATZ IM SILBERSEE sowie WINNETOUS TOD (Arbeitstitel) werden die Helden der Kindheit frei nach Karl May zeitgemäß zum Leben erweckt. Die Drehbuchautoren sind Jan Berger („Der Medicus“, „Die Tür“, „Wir sind die Nacht“) und Ko-Autor Alexander M. Rümelin („Der Vulkan“, „Ratten“, „Transporter“).
In den drei Filmen wird die legendäre Freundschaft des deutschen Einwanderers Karl May alias Old Shatterhand und des Apachenhäuptlings Winnetou als aufregender Reboot erzählt: entstaubt und modern inszeniert, emotional berührend als faszinierende Abenteuer-Reise durch den Wilden Westen Amerikas.

Für die moderne Neu-Interpretation konnten einige der populärsten und interessantesten deutschen Schauspieler gewonnen werden:
Der bei Frauen und Männern gleichermaßen beliebte, vielseitige Schauspieler Wotan Wilke Möhring spielt OLD SHATTERHAND, der internationale Shooting Star Nik Xhelilaj übernimmt die Rolle des WINNETOU, der facettenreiche und ausgezeichnete Milan Peschel wird als SAM HAWKENS zu sehen sein und die Hollywood erprobte Mexikanerin Iazua Larios als NSCHO‘ TSCHI. Ihnen gegenüber stehen brillante Gegenspieler: Jürgen Vogel beginnt als RATTLER den Helden das Leben schwer zu machen, Fahri Yardim und Matthias Matschke machen sich auf zum Silbersee und es gibt ein Wiedersehen mit Mario Adorf, der sich als SANTER Senior um seinen Sohn Michael Maertens als SANTER Jr. sorgt. Und natürlich wird es viele weitere Überraschungen und Gast-Cameos aus der alten Karl May-Filmwelt geben.

Produziert wird das TV-Event von Christian Becker („Fack ju Göhte“, „Wickie und die starken Männer“, „Die Welle“, „Bang Boom Bang“) und Christoph Müller („Sophie Scholl“, „Goethe!“).
Co-Produzenten sind Matthias & Felix Wendlandt mit der Rialto Film („Winnetou“-, „Loriot“- & „Otto“-Franchises), Dr. Marcus Englert, Mythos Film sowie Tabbenoca.
Die Bereichsleitung Fiction bei RTL wird durch Philipp Steffens (u.a. „Deutschland 83“) vertreten, die RTL-Redaktion liegt bei Brigitte Kohnert („Männer! Alles auf Anfang“, “Der Knastarzt“) und Nico Grein ( „Alarm für Cobra 11“, „Großstadtrevier“).

Für die Filmmusik konnte Kult-Komponist Martin Böttcher mit seinen beliebten sowie weltbekannten Original-Winnetou-Melodien gewonnen werden, die von Heiko Maile („Die Welle“, „Vorstadtkrokodile I-III“, „Türkisch für Anfänger“) neu arrangiert und interpretiert werden.

Der Dreh fand im Sommer/ Winter 2015 an den altbekannten Original-Schauplätzen in Kroatien sowie NRW statt. Die Produktion wird gefördert durch die Film- & Medienstiftung NRW sowie den FFF FilmFernsehFonds Bayern und unterstützt von der kroatischen Förderung HAVC (Croatian Audiovisual Centre).
Jan Mojto's Beta Film wird als internationaler Partner die Filme im Ausland vertreiben.
Die Weltpremiere der drei neuen 90-minütigen WINNETOU-Spielfilme ist für 2016 bei RTL geplant.

We call this a missed chance! Although the character of Winnetou, played by Nik Xhelilaj, can be tolerated, even if he is not a 20-year-old young Native American, it is worse with the character of Old Shatterhand aka "Karl May". Unfortunately, Old Shatterhand is a man who is approaching the age of 50 and plays his role as a "man of the Wild West" too emotionally. In fact, he whines almost the entire first part of the trilogy!

The first meeting of Winnetou and Old Shatterhand in Karl May's novel was a beautiful experience that remains in the hearts of fans and ordinary readers. The writer describes Winnetou as a beautiful and fascinating young indigenous man with noble facial features, bluish-black long hair to the waist and a strong charisma. Old Shatterhand was enchanted by Winnetou. Winnetou 2016 is a scriptwritingly very shamefully crafted film. Nothing from the charm of Karl May's novels is there! An unattractive, illogical and often boring story full of cultural and logical nonsense. In addition, the film ignores the history, lifestyle, language and culture of Native Americans. This is despite the fact that it is currently not difficult to obtain the necessary information that Karl May did not have at the time. The number of extras is low in the fight scenes, the fight scenes are not very dynamic, the psychology of the characters is poorly developed. The trilogy relied on nostalgia and was not intended for the general public and a wide audience. No wonder, then, that the trilogy has completely failed. Conclusion: eternal pity ...

Mir würde es auch gefallen, wenn die Geschichte realistisch und kein Hype wäre. Winnetou – Der Mythos lebt schlug fehl, weil er unlogisch war und nur eine Maske der Realität hatte. Ansonsten war es ein Märchen. Der erste Teil der Trilogie (Eine neue Welt) dient als Dokumentarfilm, ist jedoch zu 100% ungenau. Der zweite Teil der Trilogie fungierte als lateinische Seifenoper, der dritte Teil der Trilogie war zu kommerziell und märchenhaft, fast wie der Film Little House in the Prairie (Unsere kleine Farm, 2005). Der Höhepunkt war die Akzeptanz von Old Shatterhand als neuem Häuptling der Apachen, die zu dieser Zeit (aber auch heute) für die Indianer absolut inakzeptabel war. Aber natürlich muss die Geschichte exzellent und attraktiv sein. Jemand erwähnte The Revenant. Dieser Film ist in jeder Hinsicht ein großer Fortschritt in diesem Genre. Die Schöpfer hatten einen ausgezeichneten Kulturberater, nämlich Craig Falcon, und sie hatten auch Sprachlehrer der Stämme, die in dem Film vorkamen. Die Revenant-Geschichte spielte jedoch im Norden der USA ab, während Apachen im Südwesten der USA lebten. Dies bedeutet in anderen Landschafts- und Klimabedingungen. Und ihre Kultur, Kleidung und Sprache sowie der historische Kontext waren sehr unterschiedlich.

It is a pity to talk about the details, because the trilogy as a whole was badly processed, but at least the first part could be good without illogicalities, cultural nonsense, documentary-type narration, etc. After all, the second part was like a Latin soap opera and the third part was quite romantic, fabulous and had absolutely incredible parts, of which there were more than enough! But the first part could have worked without a lot of mistakes. But going back to the first part, telling the story of the blasting of the bridge was lengthy and cumbersome, moreover, there was absolutely no tension. After all, Karl May would have told this passage quite differently when the Indians are about to blow up the bridge, much more dramatic and there would be much more tension. In the film, it looked like they were going to play as children who wanted to experience an adventure... Maybe it's not an exact description, but that's how it affected me. Even with the fact that it was a television project, i.e. even on the television screen it was simply too "television". I miss the real combat charge at all!

In addition to what has already been written, there are many things in this trilogy that were not yet invented or did not exist at that time. I will mention for all, for example, dynamite or binocular telescope. Even Rooswell did not exist in 1860. And it doesn't exist in Arizona to this day. However, this is a geographical error of this film. The creators confused New Mexico with Arizona!

Leider geht es in der gesamten Trilogie viel mehr um Old Shaterhand, der mehr Raum einnimmt als Winnetou, die eigentlich nur durch den gesamten Film schwebt, und wenn er nicht da wäre und jemand wie "Doctor Strange" an seiner Stelle wäre, würde nichts passieren. Wenn Sie Filme nicht nach dem Buch oder alten Versionen beurteilen, werden Sie zumindest ein wenig schwache Fernsehunterhaltung genießen, um sich die Zeit an einem langen, langweiligen Abend zu vertreiben.

This trilogy has already received some awards, perhaps the design of the film was not really the worst, as well as the music, which evoked a nostalgic mood, especially among lovers of old films. Now the director of the trilogy, Philipp Stölzl, has also received the award from the Karl May Society.Many people are surprised that for what reason ... After all, the trilogy was clearly a loser. It had nothing to do with Karl May, but also with the reality of the Wild West, the culture of Native Americans, and in some places it was boring, illogical and unattractive in places. Or in some places it resembled a cheap soap opera (part 2 of the trilogy). And the Karl May fans who didn't fall in love with the new Winnetou - the beautiful Nik Xhelilaj - unequivocally, categorically and resolutely rejected the film and even developed an aversion to it. These people are fanatically fixated on movies from the last century and are not open to anything new. Therefore, the efforts of the current creators of the film about Winnetou, namely to work with nostalgia and thus satisfy everyone - new and old viewers - have been completely wasted. They have achieved the exact opposite. Old and new viewers did not like the film. Unfortunately, with their thoughtlessness, the creators slammed every door behind them, in every way.  I'm afraid neither RTL nor the creative team around the Winnetou trilogy have understood their great chances. This is a great pity and almost unforgivable. After all, Winnetou was popular in almost all countries not only in Eastern Europe but also in Western Europe. Now, the trilogy was broadcast only in the poorer countries of Eastern Europe, even without a response. Even in these countries, where viewers are accustomed to low-quality and cheap films and series that are constantly broadcast by television stations, moreover in the form of constant reruns, Winnetou 2016 has not caught on. Not only RTL, but also the film companies that participated in the creation of Winnetou 2016 could be a great success if the trilogy was good. Not a single film of theirs has a chance to be as popular and well-known and as significant as Winnetou. Children, grandchildren would definitely have watched the movie with their parents, grandparents. But nothing like that happened! The trilogy was hype. We spectators can say goodbye to our child hero and it will probably stay that way. I don't believe that anyone will try to revive the legend after this fiasco. RTL could say goodbye to a decent profit and the creators could say goodbye to their reputation and success.

Incredibly patch work of screenwriters! A nonsensical, sloppy scenario without any system and logic, just to create a story, albeit "pell-mell" and to reach some acceptable point, which is already irrelevant today, ie. that two different races can live together in peace. It is a pity!

But Wotan Wilke Möhring didn't fit into the role of Old Shatterhand at all! Not only because of his advanced age and unattractive appearance ... He played his role badly - he was shy, even crying, but also indecisive. These are not the qualities of a future mountain man! He has a low-quality, indistinct and low-masculine voice and therefore he should always be dubbed by other male actors with a nice masculine voice. It is not pleasant to listen to him. I don't understand why he got the prize for this role!
