Sam Memmolo talks Delphi Fuel Pumps

Delphi MF0095. Installed easily in my 1968 Mustang with Autolite 1100 carb just back from being totally overhauled by an Autolite specialist. The carb immediately started leaking from several places. I sent it back to the specialist. He checked it thoroughly. Needle/seat good. Float correct. Etc.
He asked if I had recently installed a new fuel pump. I had.
He said “there’s your problem.”
Chinese parts. They don’t verify pressure.”
Mine must be shooting at least double the rated 5psi.
I’ve ordered a pressure regulator and gauge.

Yes, the Delphi fuel pumps are of excellent quality but when they charge three to four times more than competitors and your on a budget you have to ask yourself if it is worth the huge extra cost.

Is this guy still around lying?
Running low on fuel will not over heat the pump because fuel pass through the pump to keep it cool. The pump suck fuel off the bottom of the tank weather it full or empty. So if trash is on the bottom. The pump is going to pick it up.
He say additive could mess up your pump. If he was getting paid by an additive company. He would say additive will help your pump last longer.

Have you ever tried to drop a full tank of gas? I have. It's not fun. If the fuel pump totally fails you'll never be able to drain the tank before you drop the tank - anti-siphon devices prevel draing through th filler. If the pump still pumps at a low pressure you can drain the tank. By the way, my Delphi pump died after only 2 years. I'm lucky that it still pumped at 10 PSI so that I could drain the tank - a FULL tank.

your pumps work like this audio quality !!! complete crap I have went thru 4 fuel pumps 3 were dead out of the box !!!!

These pumps are garbage.Dont buy unless you want a headache. I bought 2 pump assemblys 400 bucks for 1😵 that were defective straight out the box.coudnt supply enough fuel pressure to my motor ..hence crank but no start.. I thought the first one was Maybe a manufacturer error but the second one proved these pumps are trash ...replaced the old pump motor with spectra motor and works for now...iam stunned by this
