How to Panel Line Re-Scribe Tutorial. Fixing repairing and scribing panel lines and how to use Panel Line Scribing Tools.

The Falke kit is perfect for showing this technical challenge, the Panel Lines are long very complex, organic curves yet accessible due to the 1/20 scale.

I'm hoping with so many folks working on Ma.K kits for the competition, this will help those of you both new to fixing seam lines and perhaps suggest some improvements to the intermediate and advanced modellers among us.

Very excited to see further progress on your entries in our Ma.K Competition - it's going to be fun!

Try to pick these tools up at your Local Hobby Store. I buy mine here from Hobbyco;

Lincoln your going fast enough, please, for my sake, and I'm thinking I'm not alone, ACTUALLY PREFER your videos because of how much of it all you bring us to learn and know. I for one really like hearing all the comments prior during and after your work... that's you and why I follow you!

ive just unearthed 2 1982 Dorvack Powered Armor kits from Gunze Sangyo (Mr Hobby now?? and like 10 other insustrial companies). A lot of seam line and panel line fixing will be needed.
Can't wait to compare it to the Ghost MK44 coming on Monday.

You admitting lack of skill in this area, makes it feel more like I can do it too, thanks!

Great little walkthrough Linc! This was a super helpful basics video! What I do want to say is that I'm continually amazed that you share techniques you're not super great at. It's refreshing for someone to admit they're not pro at everything and openly admit it's something you're working on yourself. So cool! I'm far more interested in people who are authentic and you 100% are! Thanks mate!

Good video. I'm re-scribing a 1/72 Antonov 74 with entirely raised panel lines. I use number of scribers I like a pin in pin vice then resharpened on stone to a wedge. Dymo tape used for labels works well as scribing tape.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one struggling with panellines ;) Great tip/demonstration with that thick tape, I've freehanded my panelline repairs up till now and it's always super scary... I will definitely try to find a similar product and try this technique :D

Sujiborido sells some really nice tungsten-tipped chisel with varying widths. These are great and you may want to look into them for future scribing tutorials.

They also sell stepped chisels for an easy way to transform a seam into a panel line.

Cool technique. Had no idea about that kind of tape.
Butt: I would advise people to drop x-acto knives in favor of the OLFA AK-5 Scalpel - it comes with a sharp stylus, plethora of spare blades of excellent sharpness, a neat holder for it, and it's just my favorite tool for cutting and carving. It would've helped a lot with what you were doing with the duller knife and the blade's dull edge.
Oh and the beast feature: it has MADE IN JAPAN written on it ;)

Glad to see that your tutorials are coming back. Kinda bummed out that it became a patreon exclusive cause I really can't afford the monthly subscription because.. life. Although I try my best by watching the ads in your videos.

Great video Linc. I've been tryin to learn custom armor plating, scribing, an airbrushing on one kit. I have already screwed up and had to replace the kit, FedEx lost my spray booth, and I broke my hand. This build is taking forever to say the least.

Great, helpful video. Thank you. I am currently building a 1:25 scale model of FDNY's Rescue 1 from scratch out of sheet styrene. There are a total of 32 compartment doors on the body of the truck that have to be scribed into the plastic. Pretty straight forward squares and rectangles. It's also the first time I'm doing this type of detailing. Any advice (besides take up a new hobby, lol???). Thank you for the video.
