It’s been three weeks now since I lost Cody. He was my entire world, I have never felt more loved than when I was with him. He was the only man I ever told I wanted to be with him till the end, and today I have to pick up his ashes. I’ll never touch your body again, and it hurts so damn bad. After a 35 year magical, loving relationship, the last 21 years married, my husband died of cancer. This wasn’t a romantic breakup. We were at the height of a love that had endured and flown through incredible storms. Yet after 35 years all the components were intact and fully functional. This love-craft that carried and protected us still showed it’s promise to last us until the end. And suddenly the end was here. It took 18 months to eat him out. I can only compare it to the crash of a beautiful airliner. Now amidst the smoking debris I am trying to find my way home, but without him. This song touches me deeply.
