Lender or Broker? What's The DIfference?

What's the difference between a lender and a broker? So I'm a lender, direct lender. My company directly lends funds to buyers and we underwrite it, we process it and we fund it in house. A broker shops your loan around to see who can give you the better deal. Colin equated to car buying. We go to the Kia dealership and they shop year round with different lenders to see who can get you the best interest.
