I have undergone training within university radio as to what to do in this situation and that is to fade everything out and deliver the news in as much of a sombre way as possible then play the national anthem

Very interesting video. I was listening to LBC when the news broke and was wondering how other stations would have broken the news. At 1pm I switched to Wave 105 and they had switched their playlist to soft rock and more sombre music with occasional announcements by the presenters regarding the suspension of the regular programming. I have no real opinion on the Royal family but I do think that everyone who was involved in the presentation on Friday afternoon can come out with tremendous credit for how they coped with what was no doubt an extremely daunting task.
