Jim Reeves - I'm Gonna Change Everything (1962)

Yeah I'm gonna change everything
that holds a memory of you,
oh yeah

I'm gonna start with the wall
take the pictures off the wall
and burn 'em

Move the chairs around
take the window curtains down
and burn 'em

Everything I see
reminds me you were here
Yeah I'm gonna change everything
that holds a memory of you,
oh yeah

The candlelabra set
you gave me on the night
of my birthday

The records that you bought
the hi-fi we loved to play

The decorating man
will come and rearrange them
Yeah I'm gonna change everything
that holds a memory of you,
oh yeah

Take the carpet off the floor
throw it out the door
it's filled with tears

Everything I find
that bring you to my mind
must disappear

Every night I dream
I'll dream of someone new
Yeah I'm gonna change everything
that holds a memory of you

Yeah I'm gonna change everything
that holds a memory of you

oh yeah
Hmm
oh yeah
hmm

Listening in 2021 from Eswatini. The song reminds me of my step dad, I grew up thinking he had made up this song. RIP Zeph

i was in the 9th grade and just started playing the quitar when this was popular....i had almost forgot just how popular jim reeves was and how many great songs he had...this one was, as were so many of his, a cross over into the pop charts and was very popular with us youngsters in those days....one of a so many of the great ones....there will never be another as smooth as jim reeves

Another one of my favorite Jim Reeves songs. Also very good rythymn/beat. A song that you could dance to and cry to at the same time. Very appealing to members of the Hispanic community because it's Latin sound. One of Jim Reeves's greatest recordings! Very encouraging to those who are suffering the pains of a lost relationship.

This is gonna sound bad but the first time I heard this was at my nana's tangi (funeral) I think my aunt's sung this as my nana loved older songs like this one although they stopped as soon as they realized what this song sounded like to the rest of us
